Job summary

Center for Developmentally Disabled (CDD) / Rainbow Center is seeking a dedicated full-time Substitute Teacher to collaborate with school staff, districts, parents, and case managers to help students meet learning and behavioral goals. You will develop age-appropriate curriculum for students with special needs, create lesson plans, document progress, and communicate effectively with families.

The role requires English literacy, a high school diploma or GED, and willingness to work varied hours

Qualifications

• Must have ability to read, write, speak, understand, and type in English.
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to develop lessons and adapt activities for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Develop programming and teaching curriculum for age-appropriate programs for children with developmental and behavioral needs.
• Develop goals and objectives for recreational and gross motor interventions to address student needs.
• Provide data for evaluations and documentation reports; update progress quarterly.
• Create engaging activities to support prereadiness, self-help and behavior management.
• Prepare daily lesson plans and substitute plans; follow IEP behavior plans.
• Communicate with parents in a positive manner; participate in IEP meetings.
• Coordinate daily class schedules with staff and supervise paraprofessionals.
• Document progress data and share with leadership for program accountability.
• Maintain classroom organization and materials; keep bulletin boards updated.
