Job description

The Clinical, Developmental & Therapeutic (CDT) Program is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substitute Special Education Teacher to support students during our 18 day Summer Program beginning July 1, 2026 - July 30, 2026. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative educational and therapeutic team serving students with intensive special education needs.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional support and classroom leadership in the absence of the regular special education teacher
  • Implement individualized educational programming and behavioral supports
  • Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and clinical staff
  • Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
  • Support students with academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and functional skill development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Connecticut teaching certification preferred
  • Experience working with students with significant behavioral, emotional, developmental, or therapeutic needs strongly preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
