Job summary

Sylvania is seeking motivated individuals to assist teachers with instructional support to meet daily lesson plans and goals for each student’s IEP. The role involves working with students of varying abilities in a classroom setting, requiring patience and adaptable communication with teachers, students, supervisors, and parents.

This is a full-time, 10-month school-term position for the 2026/2027 year in Autistic Support and Multiple Disabilities Support/Autistic Support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with students preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Technology/computer skills.

Job description

We are looking for motivated individuals who are looking to make a difference in the community and in the lives of the students we serve! This position is responsible for assisting teachers with instructional support to meet daily lesson plans provided by the teacher as well as the goals of each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Works with students with varying ability levels and needs in a classroom setting. Candidates must have a high degree of patience, ability to effectively use verbal skills to communicate with teachers, students, supervisors and parents, ability to take initiative and creatively solve problems, and possess the ability to be flexible and adapt to various and challenging environments.

Full-time, 10 month (school term) M-F. Positions available for the 2026/2027 school year in Autistic Support and Multiple Disabilities Support/Autistic Support.
