Job summary

Central Point School District 6 is seeking an Educational Assistant II for Scenic Middle School. The 7.0 hour/day, 184-day calendar position supports instructional delivery and student progress under the Teacher's direction.

Responsibilities include small-group instruction, progress monitoring, and classroom supervision. Benefits include insurance contributions, retirement, and paid leave in a full-time setting.

Qualifications

• Must have one of: an Associates degree, evidence of two years of post-high school study, or a passing score on the District's assessment of reading, writing and math skills.
• Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Must possess a general knowledge of English language arts and mathematics.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists in implementing classroom learning exercises planned by the Teacher.
• Oversees group activities and supervises the whole class for short periods.
• Assists small groups or individuals with skill reinforcement or lesson assignments.
• Delivers teacher-designed subject matter through varied methods and reinforces instruction.
• Coordinates daily activities and instruction as directed.
• Assists in proctoring student assessments and maintains student records (attendance, progress, grades, IEP/PEP data).
• Supervises students in playgrounds, cafeteria, bus stops and hallways.
• Assists in classroom setup and maintenance of materials and supplies.
