Job summary

Park View Elementary School in Community Consolidated District 89 is seeking a full-time Specialized Academic Classroom Aide for the 2026-2027 school year in a self-contained SPAC classroom.

Qualifications

• Must hold Illinois ELS (PARA) license or SUB license.
• Ability to support in a self-contained SPAC classroom.
• Willingness to follow district policies and collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers in maintaining student discipline and classroom instruction; escorts students as needed.
• Sets up classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units; coordinates AV equipment.
• Keeps daily logs of student behavior and learning; implements de-escalation strategies and behavior plans.
• Assists with personal care tasks as dictated by student needs.
• Prepares curricula and evaluates student performance under teacher supervision.
• Works with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Serves as a resource for substitute teachers and participates in trainings.
