Job summary

StoneBridge Senior Living is seeking a full-time cook to prepare appetizing, nourishing meals for residents with daily dietary needs. You will follow menus, prepare meals to proper temperatures, and work with Dietitians on cycle planning.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in institutional Food Service, basic nutrition knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills to support resident satisfaction and teamwork in a care-focused environment.

Qualifications

• One year experience in institutional food service preferred.
• Basic understanding of nutrition and therapeutic diets.
• Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
• Understanding of person-centered care.
• Knowledge of professional standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Handles and stores all food according to facility procedures and safe food handling guidelines.
• Follows standardized recipes.
• Prepare foods that correspond to the menu cycles developed by Registered Dietitians.
• Cooks meals in proper temperatures and times.
• Uses supplies and equipment efficiently to prevent waste.
• Maintains food alternatives for resident choices.
• Assist with food storage, prep, tray assembly and cleaning.
• Operates institutional food prep equipment and follows maintenance schedules.
• Communicates with supervisor to maximize resident satisfaction.
• Assist Dietary Manager with survey prep and interacts with surveyors.
