Job summary

StoneBridge Senior Living is seeking a Cook to prepare nourishing, well-balanced meals for residents, following RD-approved menus and nutritional guidelines. You will handle food storage, sanitation, and tray assembly while maintaining quality, temperature, and presentation standards.

The role requires adherence to recipes, efficient use of food and equipment, and collaboration with the dietary team to support resident dietary needs and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting preferred.
• Basic understanding of nutrition and therapeutic diets.
• Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
• Understanding of person-centered care.
• Working knowledge of applying professional standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Handles and stores all food according to facility procedures and safe food handling guidelines.
• Follows standardized recipes.
• Prepares foods according to menu cycles developed by Registered Dietitians.
• Cooks or prepares appetizing, nutritious meals at proper temperatures and times.
• Uses food supplies and equipment efficiently to prevent waste.
• Prepares and maintains food alternatives to accommodate resident choices.
• Assists with food storage, preparation, tray assembly, and cleaning.
• Operates institutional food prep equipment and follows cleaning schedules.
• Communicates with supervisor to maximize resident satisfaction.
• Assists the Dietary Manager with survey preparation and interactions with surveyors.
