Job summary

StoneBridge Senior Living in Maryland Heights, MO, is seeking a Cook for full-time day and evening shifts. Prepare nourishing, well-balanced meals meeting daily nutrition and special dietary needs for residents while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes following standardized recipes, using efficient food practices, and collaborating with Dietary Management to support excellent resident care. Prior experience in institutional food service is preferred.

Qualifications

• One (1) year experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting preferred.
• Basic understanding of nutrition and therapeutic diets.
• Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
• Understanding of person-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Handles and stores all food according to facility procedures and safe food handling guidelines.
• Follows standardized recipes.
• Prepares foods according to menu cycles developed by Registered Dietitians.
• Cooks and prepares meals that are appetizing, nutritionally adequate and served at correct temperatures.
• Uses food supplies and equipment efficiently to prevent waste.
• Assists with food storage, tray assembly, and cleaning.
• Operates institutional food preparation equipment as directed.
• Communicates with supervisor to maximize resident satisfaction.
