Job summary

Blakehurst Senior Living in Towson, MD is seeking a full-time Cook to join our kitchen team. The position involves hands-on production cooking in the Community Culinary Services Department, with a 11:30 am - 8:00 pm schedule and alternating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least five years of restaurant or senior living cooking experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, and daily Pay options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of five-year restaurant/senior living or equivalent cooking experience.
• All new hires must pass preemployment screening including fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization at all times.
• Adhere to food quality, appearance and presentation standards.
• Produce and serve menu cycle programs compliant with nutritional/dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per policy.
• Demonstrate cooking speed, accuracy and efficiency.
• Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.
• Assist with serving meals and dishwashing as necessary.
• Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, creating a positive marketing environment.
