Job summary

Blakehurst is recruiting a hospitality focused Cook to join our team in Towson, MD. This full-time role covers hands-on production cooking in the Community Culinary Services Department, with a schedule of 11:30 am to 8:00 pm, five days a week and alternating weekends/holidays.

You will work in a Life Plan Community on a 40-acre campus, serving 300+ seniors. We offer comprehensive benefits, generous PTO, DailyPay, and a supportive, engaging work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of five-year restaurant/senior living or equivalent cooking experience.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify cleanliness, sanitation and organization at all times.
• Adhere to food quality, appearance and presentation standards.
• Produce and serve menu cycle programs per dietary criteria and policy.
• Exhibit cooking speed, accuracy and efficiency.
• Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.
• Assist with serving of meals and dishwashing; represent the community warmly.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Exemplify at all times community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization.
• Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.
• Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required Nutritional/Dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per policy and procedure.
• Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.
• Assist with serving of meals and dish washing as necessary.Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive marketing environment.
