Job summary

Meritus Solutions Group is seeking professional Armed Security Officers to support U.S. Naval infrastructure operations at Naval Base Kitsap (NBK).

Officers protect personnel, facilities, and critical infrastructure while supporting force protection and security operations throughout the installation. Officers must demonstrate proficiency in federal security procedures, access control operations, armed response protocols, mobile patrols, RAMs, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Secret clearance or ability to obtain
• At least 21 years old (18+ for Reserve/NG)
• Minimum of two years security experience
• Pass MMPI, medical evaluation, drug screening, and PRT
• Read, write, speak and understand English fluently
• Ability to prepare accurate written reports
• High School Diploma or GED; DD214 if prior service

Responsibilities

• Control access to secured and restricted areas
• Conduct Entry Control Point operations
• Perform armed alarm responses
• Conduct mobile security patrols and inspections
• Support RAMs and protect personnel and government property
• Respond to emergencies and security incidents
• Complete reports and logs as required
• Enforce regulations, post orders, and installation policies
• Maintain proficiency with weapons and equipment
• Perform additional duties as assigned by contract leadership

Position Summary

Armed Security Officers are responsible for protecting personnel, facilities, equipment, and critical infrastructure while supporting force protection and security operations throughout the installation.

Officers must demonstrate proficiency in federal security procedures, access control operations, armed response protocols, mobile patrol operations, and Random Antiterrorism Measures (RAMs).

This position requires professionalism, sound judgment, physical fitness, and the ability to operate within a highly structured military security environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mobile security patrols and security inspections
• Support Random Antiterrorism Measures (RAMs)
• Protect personnel, government property, and critical infrastructure
• Respond to emergencies and security incidents

• Enforce federal regulations, installation policies, and post orders
• Maintain proficiency with assigned weapons and security equipment
• Perform additional duties as assigned by contract leadership

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must:

• Possess or be able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Applicants may be 18 years of age if currently serving in the Reserve Component or National Guard
• Possess a minimum of two (2) years of security experience
• Successfully pass:
  • MMPI psychological evaluation
  • Medical evaluation
  • Drug screening
  • Physical Readiness Test (PRT)
• Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
• Be capable of preparing accurate written reports

Physical Readiness Test Requirements

Applicants must successfully complete:

• 1.5-mile run in 17 minutes and 30 seconds or less
• 19 push-ups within 2 minutes

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required

DD214 (if prior military service)

Required Certifications & Training

Applicants must possess:

• Valid Driver's License
• 160-Hour Naval Security Guard Training Course (NSGTC)
• CPR / First Aid / AED
• M4 Rifle Qualification
• M18 Pistol Qualification
• OC Spray Certification

All required training must be successfully completed and maintained throughout employment.

• Base Pay $36.42/hour
• Full-Time Health & Welfare Benefit $6.50/hour
• Total Hourly Compensation $42.92/hour

Effective October 1, 2025.

Security Clearance Requirement

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining clearance eligibility and meeting all government suitability requirements.
