Job summary

Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer for full-time in Waukegan, IL, to join our team on the 2nd and 3rd shifts. You will perform access control, patrols, and de-escalation while engaging with clients and guests to ensure safety and asset protection.

Elite training and growth opportunities are provided as part of a supportive management staff. The role emphasizes teamwork, rapid response to emergencies, and detailed reporting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and clear driving record for some sites.
• High School Diploma, GED, OR ability to complete the GED program within 6 months.
• Standard computer / technology skills needed.
• Customer service background preferred.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred (provided).
• Prior Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience a plus.
• Must pass pre-employment screening including drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Perform access control at security entrances / exits.
• Conduct patrols inside / outside the client’s premises, potentially in various weather conditions and in different terrains.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Provide detailed written reports.
• Work in a team environment to ensure site / organizational goals are achieved daily.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.
