Job summary

Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer for full-time work in Waukegan, IL. The role involves customer service focused security duties, access control, patrols, and reporting safety concerns with a strong emphasis on teamwork.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, be 18 or older, and possess reliable transportation. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred and pre-employment screening is required. Weekly pay and paid training are available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record required for some sites.
• High School Diploma, GED, OR ability to complete the GED program within 6 months.
• Standard computer / technology skills needed.
• Customer service background preferred.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred (provided).
• Prior Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience a plus!!
• Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a calm and professional manner.
• Must have great attention to detail and the ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Perform access control at security entrances / exits.
• Conduct patrols inside / outside the client’s premises, potentially in various weather conditions and in different types of terrain.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Provide detailed written reports.
• Work in a team environment to ensure site / organizational goals are achieved daily.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.
