Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a full-time School Social Worker to support students in a K-5 setting with occasional middle school involvement. You’ll provide direct services, small group therapy, and consultation to address behavioral and social-emotional needs.

You will collaborate with teachers, admins, and families, maintain records, and participate in MDT meetings. This contract role emphasizes a supportive environment and a measurable impact on student well-being.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan Social Work license.
• Department of Education approval for school social work in Michigan.
• Experience working with children, elementary through middle school age.
• Strong background supporting students with significant behavioral or social-emotional needs.
• Familiarity with small group and individual therapy in a school environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and consultation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct social work and mental health services to students, both individually and in small groups.
• Address behavioral challenges through evidence-based strategies and supports.
• Work with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement intervention plans.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide consultative services for staff and caregivers.
• Maintain detailed records, progress notes, and required compliance documentation.
• Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports students emotional well-being.
