Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• General knowledge and experience in building maintenance, construction, or related trades preferred.
• Ability to perform physical labor, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and safely lift and move equipment and materials.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must meet all employment and background-check requirements established by the McGehee School District and Arkansas law.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and other building systems within the employee's training and qualifications.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of district buildings, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintain school grounds, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, and debris removal as assigned.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency facility needs.
• Safely operate and maintain tools, equipment, and district vehicles.
• Assist with preparation of facilities for school activities, athletic events, and special events.
• Follow all district safety procedures and applicable state and federal requirements.
• Report safety hazards, needed repairs, and facility concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor or Superintendent.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Superintendent.
