Job summary

You will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain discipline, and complete transport records while complying with state and federal CDL requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold Arkansas CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Must complete Arkansas pre-service school bus driver training and behind-the-wheel instruction.
• Must obtain annual Arkansas school bus driver certificate after in-service training and physical exam.
• Physical examination by a licensed professional and periodic re-exams.
• Criminal background checks and drug screening as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the school bus safely and efficiently in compliance with Arkansas traffic laws and district policies.
• Conduct required pre-trip safety inspections and report any safety concerns.
• Follow departmental safety procedures for loading/unloading students and crossing procedures.
• Maintain student behavior and discipline on the bus per district policies; ensure safety during boarding/exits and evacuations.
• Complete required administrative tasks (bus logs, incident reports, transport records) accurately and timely.
