Qualifications

• Master's degree in school counseling required.
• Completion of school counseling internship required.
• Valid NC school counseling certification, or ability to obtain, required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to NC Professional School Counselor Standards.
• Utilize data to design, deliver, and communicate a comprehensive school counseling program based on the NC Essential Standards for school counselors.
• Appropriately use assessment procedures for determining and structuring individual and group counseling services.
• Counsel students individually or in small groups for identified needs within academic, personal/social, and career domains.
• Implement developmentally appropriate group activities to meet student needs and school goals.
• Develop and maintain a written plan for effective delivery of the school counseling program.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians and relevant stakeholders to foster academic success for students.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents and outside agency personnel to support the whole child.
• Perform safety functions/drills to maintain a safe instructional environment.
