Qualifications

• Master's degree in school counseling or equivalent with licensure.
• Completion of school counseling internship required.
• Valid NC school counseling certification, or ability to obtain.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Design and deliver a comprehensive school counseling program using NC standards.
• Use assessment tools to plan individual and group counseling.
• Counsel students individually or in groups for identified needs.
• Implement prevention-oriented activities to meet student outcomes.
• Maintain a written plan for service delivery per NC standards.
• Conduct yearly audit of counseling program; analyze student data.
• Monitor student performance, behavior, attendance; intervene as needed.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and outside agencies.
• Attend professional development and required meetings.
• Perform safety drills and ensure a safe environment.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
