Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a certified school counselor for a full-time, 10-month schedule. The role supports academic and social development through a comprehensive counseling program under the supervision of the principal.

The candidate will collaborate with families, teachers, and community partners, design data-driven interventions, and ensure compliance with state standards for counseling services. A Master’s degree and NC licensure are required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in school counseling or equivalent plus licensure.
  • Completion of school counseling internship required.
  • Valid NC school counseling certification, or ability to obtain, required.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize data to design and communicate a comprehensive school counseling program.
  • Counsel students individually or in groups for identified needs in academics, personal/social, and career planning.
  • Develop and maintain a plan for delivering the counseling program.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to support student success.
  • Attend professional development and meetings as required.
  • Maintain safety and respond to crises as needed.
