Qualifications

• Willing to be trained in nutrition, sanitation, and equipment use.
• Basic math and clerical ability for meal counting.
• Able to work efficiently, courteously with staff and public.
• Able to communicate effectively in a team environment.
• Stand and lift up to 50 lbs.
• US citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Food safety and sanitation certificate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to students and staff.
• Ensure safe and proper portioning of food.
• Ensure reimbursable meals have required items on tray.
• Use proper food handling techniques (gloves, masks, etc.).
• Refill serving line between lunches.
• Operate a computer to process lunch charges.
• Manage cash drawer and record cash totals daily.
• Assist in end-of-day cleanup and equipment washing.
• Prepare food for meal service using recipes.
• Operate equipment safely (ovens, steamers, kettles, tables, slicers).
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Report problems to Cafeteria Manager.
