Job summary

Wareham Public Schools is seeking a part-time Cafeteria Monitor to assist with lunches at Wareham Elementary School. The role supports kitchen staff, prepares and serves meals, and helps maintain a safe, orderly cafeteria environment for students during the 2026-2027 school year.

The position requires CORI and fingerprinting, and citizenship, residency, or a work visa. Work is 3 to 3.5 hours per day during lunch periods, with a High School/Trade School degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen staff and students in the lunchroom during three lunches.
• Involved in preparations, service and/or cleanup of the meal service area.
• Perform duties related to operation and administration of the school nutrition program, e.g. assisting students with meals, setting up the lunchroom, helping with the lunch line.
• Ensuring the safety of all students who enter the cafeteria
• Keeping the cafeteria orderly and systematic at all times
• Provide students with positive feedback and instructions
• Model proper procedures and expectations for students
• Keep lunches running on time
• Perform tasks as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager
• Interact professionally with students and staff; report problems to the Cafeteria Manager

Job Description

• Assist kitchen staff and Wareham Elementary School students in the lunchroom during three lunches for the 2026-2027 School Year
