Job summary

TheraPeds Partners seeks a full-time American Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) for a Greenwood Village, Colorado school-based position for the 2026–2027 year. The role provides communication access for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students with on-site, in-person support across campus.

Responsibilities include interpreting in classrooms and meetings, collaborating with school teams, and ensuring compliance with IEPs, IDEA, and district policies.

Qualifications

• ASL and English fluency with strong receptive/expressive skills.
• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, per Colorado requirements.
• Successful completion of required written assessment/testing.
• Documentation submitted to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).
• RID certification preferred.
• ITP or ASL–English interpreting program preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• K–12 interpreting experience strongly preferred.
• Understanding of IDEA/IEP processes and accommodations.
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and educational access.
• Ability to collaborate with Deaf students, families, and school staff.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Ability to work with educational teams and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Strong organization and time management.
• Prepare with subject vocabulary for accuracy.
• Comfort with technology for scheduling/documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL-English interpretation during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Interpret communication between students, teachers, and staff.
• Support access to academic instruction and classroom discussions.
• Demonstrate strong receptive and expressive ASL skills.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Adapt interpretation strategies to student needs and educational environment.
• Prepare for content and terminology to support accurate interpretation.
• Collaborate with teachers of the deaf, special and general education staff, and related-service providers.
• Support implementation of IEP accommodations and services.
• Participate in IEP and educational team meetings as appropriate.
• Respect district policies and privacy laws.
