Sunbelt Staffing is seeking two full-time on-site Sign Language Interpreters in Montrose, CO for the 2026-2027 academic year. You will provide ASL interpretation to deaf and hard-of-hearing students to ensure access to classroom instruction and school activities.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, special education staff, and families. A strong communication skill set and appropriate Colorado credentials are required for ongoing school-year support.

Qualifications

• Hold or qualify for Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization.
• Associates degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, ASL, or a related discipline.
• Successful completion of the EIPA Written Examination.
• EIPA Performance score of 3.5+ or current RID Certification.
• Meet all state and district employment criteria, including background checks.
• Strong ASL proficiency, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL interpretation for students during instructional periods, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
• Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers.
• Protect confidentiality, complying with FERPA and district privacy standards.
• Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers.
• Prepare by reviewing classroom materials and upcoming assignments.
• Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines for educational interpreters.
