Job summary

Animal Care Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join a busy general practice. You will support outpatient care and procedural services, including anesthesia, dentistry, and surgical cases, while maintaining thorough patient records and clear client communication.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year experience, IA RVT licensure, and strong skills in venipuncture, radiology, meds, and lab work.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of veterinary technician experience.
• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Iowa.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, radiology, medications, in-house diagnostics, medical records, and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Assisting in surgery.
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography.
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation.
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately.
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital.
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service.
