Frey Pet Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team, supporting outpatient care and procedural services including surgery and dentistry. We value credentialed, client-focused technicians who balance exam room care with hands-on procedural support.

Minimum qualifications include 3+ years of veterinary technician experience and an Iowa RVT license; strong skills in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, records, and client communication are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience.
• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the state of Iowa.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care, anesthesia induction/monitoring/recovery, surgical assistance, dental prophylaxis and radiography, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, radiology safety, medication administration, in-house diagnostics, medical record documentation, safe patient handling, client education, multitasking in a fast-paced hospital.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Assist in surgery.
• Perform dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients clearly.
