Job summary

Chelsea Retirement Community is seeking a Registered Nurse for the night shift at Kresge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea, MI. The role focuses on direct patient care, medication administration, and collaboration with the care team to ensure resident comfort and safety.

You'll monitor residents, participate in care plan updates, and support nursing assistants while maintaining infection control and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN).
• Active State of Michigan RN License.
• CPR certification required or willing to obtain upon hire.
• Minimum of one year of experience with frail and elderly.
• Tasks involving more than 50 lbs require assistance or equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Direct Nursing Care – Administer medications, perform treatments, monitor vital signs and wound care.
• Conduct Health Assessments – Evaluate residents and report changes in condition to the clinical team.

• Manage Admissions and Discharges – Conduct admission and discharge procedures.
• Maintain Medical Records – Keep up-to-date records in compliance with policies.
• Ensure Safety and Infection Control – Follow protocols for a safe environment.
• Prevent Spread of Illness – Adhere to infection control procedures.
• Engage in Ongoing Education – Maintain certifications and stay current with best practices.

Schedule: Full-Time 36 hours/week | 6:30pm-7:00am | Every Other Weekend Rotation
Pay Range: $40.01 - $47.44/hr. (this rate is inclusive of the $3.40/hr. Michigan Skilled Nursing Facility Direct Care Worker Pass-Through approved rate; current approval through September 30, 2026)

Shift Premiums: Beginning 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm, $1:90 | Beginning 10:31 pm -7 am, $1.35 | Weekend Fri, 10:31 pm – Sun 11:00 pm, $1.00.

What You’ll Do:

As a Registered Nurse at Kresge Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, you’ll provide direct, hands-on nursing care focused on quality, treatment, and resident comfort. You’ll administer medications, perform treatments, monitor vital signs, and assess residents to identify changes in condition, ensuring timely communication with the care team.
In this role, you’ll observe and respond to residents’ needs, support care plan updates, and help maintain a safe, compliant environment through proper documentation and infection control practices. You’ll also play a key role in supporting and guiding nursing assistants while helping ensure smooth daily operations, including admissions and discharges.
Your clinical expertise and attention to detail will help deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for each resident while maintaining the standards of care expected in a skilled nursing environment.

• Engage in Ongoing Education – Maintain certifications and stay current with best practices.
