Job summary

Mercy in Springfield, Missouri is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our rehabilitation team. You will work with licensed Physical Therapists to help patients regain mobility and function in a patient-centered environment.

As a PTA, you will provide high-quality treatments, monitor progress, document outcomes, and ensure safety and dignity for every patient served. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and supervision of aides.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of practice (or temporary permit).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing treatment plans under the supervising PT.
• Perform therapeutic exercises, gait, and mobility training.
• Administer modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot/cold packs, Whirlpool).
• Document patient progress and communicate changes to the PT.
