Job summary

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to join our team in Virginia. This full-time role provides direct care to adults with serious mental health challenges in a residential setting, with evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

One year of direct care experience working with adults with serious mental illness.
CNA preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care, support, and supervision to clients in an intensive, short-term residential setting.
Monitor client behavior, needs, and progress and accurately document observations and services provided.
Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to support treatment goals and coordinated care.
Facilitate activities focused on independent living skills, personal development, and leisure.
Encourage clients to develop skills that promote independence and wellness.
Assist with household duties and maintaining a safe, supportive environment.
Help maintain health, safety, dignity, and civil rights of clients/families.
Respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional needs and situations that may arise.
Establish positive, respectful relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
