The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to join our team in Virginia. This full-time role provides direct care to adults with serious mental health challenges in a residential setting, with evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• One year of direct care experience working with adults with serious mental illness.
• CNA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, support, and supervision to clients in an intensive, short-term residential setting.
• Monitor client behavior, needs, and progress and accurately document observations and services provided.
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to support treatment goals and coordinated care.
• Facilitate activities focused on independent living skills, personal development, and leisure.
• Encourage clients to develop skills that promote independence and wellness.
• Assist with household duties and maintaining a safe, supportive environment.
• Help maintain health, safety, dignity, and civil rights of clients/families.
• Respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional needs and situations that may arise.
• Establish positive, respectful relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.

Psychiatric Technician - Full-Time

Annual Salary: $40,091

Shift Differential: $2.50/hour for evenings, overnights, and weekends

Schedules:

• 7:00 pm - 3:30 pm, with alternating weekends
• 9:30 am - 6:00 pm, with alternating weekends
