Job summary

Carroll Lutheran Village, Inc. seeks a Full-Time Prep Cook (Cook I) to join our Culinary team and serve residents with high-quality meals. The role follows standardized recipes, supports dietary needs, and collaborates across departments to maintain a welcoming dining experience.

Shift schedule includes 6:00am–2:00pm and 7:00am–3:00pm, Monday–Friday with every other weekend; ServSafe training is required within 90 days of hire and ongoing education opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of work-related experience preferred.
• Follow basic recipes and production guidelines.
• Move around kitchen and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comply with vaccination policies where required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items by following recipes and production guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment to measure, mix, cut, peel, and trim ingredients.
• Estimate quantities, review menus, maintain production records, requisition supplies.
• Accommodate special dietary requirements and prepare meals to order.
• Receive and manage inventory and lift/move food supplies.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation per safety standards.
• Maintain temperature logs and other documentation.
• Attend training, including ServSafe within 90 days of hire.
• Collaborate with interdepartmental staff to ensure high-quality service.
• Contribute to a positive environment for residents and team members.
