Job summary

WindRiver Living in Kentucky is seeking a reliable Full-Time Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This role supports food preparation, maintains cleanliness, and ensures safe handling of kitchen equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, with additional shifts for events. Candidates should be attentive, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and willing to learn and follow WindRiver’s safety and food-handling procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from kitchen staff.
• Flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, portion, and present food according to WindRiver guidelines and food safety standards.
• Evaluate food quality through tasting and visual checks.
• Maintain prep levels and replenish items during service.
• Set up, clean, and break down workstations per daily checklists.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and store items; monitor temperatures.
• Receive deliveries, label, rotate, and manage inventory.
• Follow allergen-handling procedures and prevent cross-contamination.
• Report injuries and participate in safety trainings.
