Minimum qualifications include a Doctorate or Master’s in the discipline (or a Master’s with 18 graduate hours). Preference for college-level Physics teaching experience, course design, and ability to use instructional technologies.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in discipline OR Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline.
  • Experience teaching Physics at college level (two-year colleges or similar).
  • Ability to develop curriculum and adapt to diverse student populations.
  • Strong written and oral communication; computer literate; online instruction a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited Physics courses.
  • Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives.
  • Evaluates students’ progress and maintains documentation.
  • Attends staff development trainings and conferences; ensures safety in the training area.
  • Meets with students and faculty to discuss instructional programs and other issues; assists with recruitment and placement.
