Job summary

State of Georgia invites applications for an on-campus Instructor of Physics/Physical Science at the Gwinnett Technical College—Lawrenceville campus. This full-time, 12-month position reports to the Dean of Education with a typical 40-hour week, Monday–Friday.

May include some duties at Alpharetta-North Fulton Campus. The role requires a Doctorate or Master’s degree (18 graduate hours in discipline) and a strong background in college-level physics, curriculum development, and effective teaching

Qualifications

  • Doctorate or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline
  • Experience teaching college-level Physics courses in two-year or technical colleges
  • Ability to develop courses and syllabi; adapt to diverse student populations
  • Proficient written and verbal communication; computer literate

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson plans for credited Physics/Mathematics courses
  • Develop programs and syllabi, goals and objectives
  • Evaluate student progress toward learning goals
  • Maintain documentation, supplies, and budget requests
  • Attend staff development trainings and conferences
  • Ensure safety and security in training areas
  • Assist with recruitment and job placement efforts
