Full Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

CommuniCare Rehab, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, has a full-time position available for a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at Chardon Healthcare Center. Qualifications

• Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited two-year associate degree program in Physical Therapy Assisting.
• Agreement to abide by the APTA Practice Standards/Code of Conduct.
• Passing score on the national licensure examination.
• Physical Therapy Assistant License (Required).
• Competency in therapy treatment principles, techniques, materials, and equipment utilization.
• Knowledge of state and federal accreditation standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Verifying client information by interviewing clients, reviewing medical histories, and confirming treatment purposes.
• Helping clients improve their quality of life by assisting with motor skills, independence, and mobility, especially for injured workers and individuals with learning disabilities.
• Implementing treatment plans through direct treatment and collaboration with Physical Therapists, including educating other team members.
• Participating in continuing education to maintain professional growth.
• Maintaining confidentiality of all medical and facility information.
• Accurately documenting billing information daily.
• Leading interdisciplinary meetings when appropriate to relay clinical findings and recommendations.
• Ensuring documentation compliance under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Providing staff and family training and education through in-services and consultations.
• Managing supplies by inventorying, ordering, and verifying receipt.
