Physical Therapist - PT

Position Summary

A therapist’s overall responsibility is to manage the care of the patient/resident, ensuring quality outcomes. The therapist participates as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, manages resources to meet patient/resident needs, and balances outcomes with cost-effective and efficient treatment.

Reports To

Directly reports to the Director of Rehabilitation or designee of the facility where providing therapy services.

Supervises

Supervises clinically all assistants and aides of patients under their direction, according to established care plans and state and federal guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college or university with at least a bachelor's degree in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or a master's in speech-language pathology, or equivalent certification accepted by the professional accrediting body.
• Foreign-trained therapists must meet the education standards set by the state licensing board.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

• Managing other rehabilitation personnel
• Experience in long-term care facilities
• Managing cost and productivity
• Outpatient experience
• Knowledge of governmental and regulatory healthcare guidelines

Licensure

Actively licensed in the state(s) of employment as a Speech Language Pathologist, Physical or Occupational Therapist, or related health care professional.
