Job summary

Salem Health Medical Clinic – Woodburn is seeking a Laboratory Technical Assistant/Phlebotomist to support accurate testing and patient experience. You’ll collect specimens, perform EKGs, and conduct waived and moderately complex testing to ensure providers have the information needed for patient care.

You’ll register patients in Epic, verify orders, and handle documentation while maintaining quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy or lab assistant program OR eligibility to sit for a national certification exam.
• Minimum two years Specimen Management Lab Assistant experience or two years waived/moderately complex testing.
• One year phlebotomy experience or completion of accredited phlebotomy program.

Responsibilities

• Perform venous, capillary, and other specimen collections with proper ID, technique, and patient comfort.
• Register patients, verify orders and insurance in Epic.
• Process, prepare, and transport specimens per procedures and stability guidelines.
• Perform EKGs and recognize critical results with timely communication.
• Conduct waived and moderately complex testing, review results, and perform QA and equipment maintenance.
• Educate patients on collection requirements and testing preparations.
• Provide excellent customer service and collaborate with lab and clinical teams.
• Maintain safe, organized, and infection-controlled work environment.
