Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a phlebotomist for the ACL Laboratories - AMC Mount Pleasant in Wisconsin. The role involves venipuncture, specimen collection from all age groups, and ensuring accurate patient identification and labeling.

You will perform limited CLIA-guided testing and support billing and inventory functions. The position is 40 hours per week, full-time, with shifts Monday–Friday 12:00–20:30 and weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy knowledge or related laboratory function.
• Basic computer skills including experience using computer software applications.
• Keyboarding and typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good listening.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Verifies positive patient identification and ensures patient safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from newborn to adult.
• Labels specimens and resolves identification/requisition issues.
• Performs limited testing under CLIA guidelines as per policy.
• Assists with inventory, billing, and other business functions.
• Instructs staff in phlebotomy, data entry and specimen processing; ensures age-appropriate care.
