Schedule: 6.50 Hours/Day (8:30 am - 3:00 pm), Monday-Friday, 185 Days/Year

The Personal Care Assistant / 1:1 Paraeducator provides instructional, behavioral, and personal care support as outlined in the student’s Individual Education Plan. The assistant works under the supervision of the classroom teacher and program supervisor. The assignment is for a school year and may end at any time based on student needs.
Evidence of 20 hours of staff development activities related to the position must be provided annually, with pro-ration based on hire date.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Safe Crisis Management Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (SCM), or Quality Behavioral Solutions: Safety-Care Crisis Prevention (QBS), as directed by program needs.
The role requires the ability to lift and assist students of various ages and with assistive devices, and to physically restrain students in emotional distress using CPI, SCM, or QBS methods, with training provided.
