Job summary

NCH Healthcare System is seeking a Patient Registrar Admitting Marco to accurately collect demographics, insurance information, and required signatures at the point of care across inpatient, outpatient, and ED settings. You will verify benefits, obtain authorizations, collect deposits and co-pays, and help patients navigate billing while maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.
• Must be able to prioritize and work independently.
• Good customer services and communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge: ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, input data.

Responsibilities

• Completes all required registration/billing information accurately and timely in host system.
• Prepares ID armband, barcode label sheets and obtains signatures as needed for registration.
• Proficient in the use of the Patient Accounting Registration software and cash posting processes.
• Works with bed Utilization to move patients to appropriate units and coordinate transport.
• Trains and assists new employees in Revenue Cycle protocols.
• Completes insurance verification, LMRP and confirms authorizations using applicable tools.
• Reviews registration for indicators from Financial Counselors to ensure documentation is complete.
• Assists patients with financial information, payments, and referrals to eligibility vendors when applicable.
• Documents payments received and balances daily journals and cash postings.
• Ensures accuracy of demographics, financial class, and coding; maintains patient account notes.
