Job summary

Jovie in Laguna Beach is seeking compassionate, reliable back-up nannies to care for children in-home on an on-call basis. This role offers a flexible schedule around school or family commitments and requires engaging children with safe, age-appropriate activities.

Ideal candidates are 18+, have prior childcare experience (infant experience preferred), and can travel to multiple families across the area. Training is provided, with paid time off and benefits for full-time schedules.

Qualifications

• 18 years old or older.
• Experience with children, paid or unpaid; infant experience mandatory.
• Reliable transportation.
• Willingness and ability to travel to various homes in the area.
• Available any 3+ weekdays for 6–8 hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm.
• Strong communication and responsiveness to staffing supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Care for children in-home without transportation duties.
• Minimal housekeeping related to activities/meals with the child.
• Support families with care for infants through toddlers, highest demand under 2 years.
• Provide safety-centered, age-appropriate hands-on activities based on observations.

As a Back-up Nanny, You Will

• Care for children in-home, but you will not be required to transport children


• No household duties other than common sense clean-up of your activities or meals with the child


• Support families who need care for children ranging from infants through toddlers. Highest demand for care for children under the age of 2!


• Engage children by providing safety and leading hands-on activities based on your observations of the children’s age-appropriate development

We Provide

• Pay: $20 per hour - $22.25 per hour per hour


• Receive paid training and a nanny kit filled with age-appropriate activities and games that you will bring to childcare assignments

About You

• At least 18 years old
