Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Paraprofessional for a K-12 school district in Raymore, MO. You will provide individualized 1:1 or small-group support to students with significant support needs, helping them participate in lessons and build independence.

The role offers a steady school-year schedule, W-2 employment with liability insurance, healthcare benefits and a 401(k) with company match, mileage reimbursement between sites, and ongoing mentorship from a collaborative school team.

Qualifications

• Must have 60 college credit hours OR completed the 20 hour substitute certificate course OR have passed the ParaPathways/ParaPro assessment.
• Experience working with children or individuals with significant support needs or disabilities preferred.
• Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow individualized education and behavior support plans.
• School-based or paraprofessional experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with significant support needs.
• Assist students with academic activities, communication, and daily living skills as needed.
• Implement behavior support plans and instructional strategies under the direction of the classroom team.
• Support students with mobility, transitions, and classroom participation.
• Reinforce social, emotional, communication, and functional life skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and related service providers.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Maintain basic documentation as needed.
