Job summary

Plymouth Public Schools West Elementary School in Plymouth, Massachusetts is seeking a Cat. 3 Paraeducator CARE Program to support students and teachers throughout the school day.

The role involves assisting the classroom and specialists, supervising students, and implementing individual safety and education plans as part of a collaborative educational team. Starting August 25, 2026, the position is full-time and requires strong communication, reliability, and a supportive approach to students

Qualifications

• Highly Qualified as per DESE regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to work with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to follow safety and behavioral guidelines, including IEP/504 considerations.
• Trained in non-violent crisis intervention preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher and specialists as needed.
• Support students in educational tasks and classroom activities.
• Review student work under teacher direction.
• Supervise students during instructional periods and transitions.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and data.
• Support behavior management under supervision.
• Escort students to and from transportation safely.
• Collect data on student performance and behavior as directed.
• Report incidents to supervising staff promptly.
• Participate in TEAM meetings as requested.
• Follow individual student safety and care plans (IEP/504).
• Assist in various school settings (small group, recess, lunch, field trips).
• Work independently and exercise sound judgment in the moment.
• Provide supervision throughout the school day as needed.
• Engage in professional development opportunities.
