Job summary

Jobtailor in Reno, NV seeks a compassionate program aide to ensure safe, non-judgmental service for participants and to enforce program rules. You will coordinate meals, sleeping assignments, and daily routines while maintaining security and accurate daily reports.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions.
• General knowledge of homelessness, substance abuse, young adults, minorities, and persons with disabilities.
• Ability to utilize interventions for participants with varying needs and levels of functioning.
• Flexible to work irregular hours.
• Computer skills required.
• CPR and First Aid training within 90 days of employment, re-certification as necessary.
• TB testing annually.
• Nevada driver's license preferred.
• Must undergo a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assuring quality service in a safe, non-judgmental manner to all program participants compassionately and professionally.
• Explain program rules and regulations to residents and facilitate participant observance of the rules.
• Coordinate meal preparation/service, bed/sleeping assignments, showers, laundering, and other daily routines.
• Provide “awake” shift coverage and maintain ground security.
• Conduct hourly safety and security checks during designated periods.
• De-escalate a crisis before it develops and respond to the situation in an appropriate manner.
• Maintain daily reports to provide statistical information.
• Perform housekeeping and other maintenance tasks as needed.
• Respond to all participant questions and concerns.
• Perform clerical duties on shift.
• Maintain clear, thorough, routine communication with all participants.
