Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Aide to support residents with activities of daily living and maintain a safe, clean living environment at our community in Murfreesboro, TN.

You will respond to resident requests, document status updates, assist with meals and mobility, and collaborate with the nursing team while upholding confidentiality and professional conduct. Flexibility to work weekends/holidays is required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have completed an approved Personal Care Aide program per state regulations.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
  • Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow supervisor instructions.
  • Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Must lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
  • Must safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
  • Must wear designated uniform including name badge during work hours.
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days.
  • Must represent the community positively and professionally.
  • Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents of the community.
  • Reports incidents involving residents and cares concerns to appropriate individuals (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, or ED).
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living.
  • Performs housekeeping duties such as making beds and cleaning apartments and common areas as directed.
  • Responds promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
  • Remains calm and competent during emergencies.
  • Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
  • Follows confidentiality policies regarding resident information releases.
  • Assists residents to and from dining room and activities.
  • Checks on residents and ensures attendance at meals and activities.
  • Monitors residents who are ill and reports status/concerns to appropriate individuals.
  • Communicates status, appointments, admissions, and transfers in writing and verbally.
  • Assists new residents with move-in transition and provides emotional support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description


  • Provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents of the community

  • Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues, to appropriate individuals (ex: HCD, RN/LPN, or ED)

  • Maintains a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position

  • Assists residents with activities of daily living

  • Performs housekeeping duties, such as making resident beds, cleaning resident apartments, common areas, dining room, etc. as directed by supervisor

  • Responds promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts

  • Remains calm and competent during emergencies

  • Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents

  • Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information

  • Assists residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activities

  • Checks on residents, ensures attendance at meals and activities

  • Checks on residents who are ill and reports status or concerns to appropriate individuals

  • Communicates verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming community information, resident appointments, admissions, and transfers

  • Assists new residents with move-in transition: provides emotional support

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements
