Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas in Irving, TX, seeks a Full-Time Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room. Mid-Shift 8:30 am - 7:00 pm with a $15,000 sign-on bonus available. This role delivers direct and indirect patient care within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
• Able to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians and employees.
• Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures specific to an OR nurse.
• Clinically proficient in OR nursing skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers indirect and direct patient care according to established standards, considering the age and risk factors of the patient.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment at admission and on a regular basis with documentation.
• Takes emergency call as assigned.
• Integrates and coordinates care across settings and among disciplines.
• Utilizes special precautions in direct care and supervision of care for sedated patients.
• Documents all records according to established policies and procedures.
• Assists with reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
• Provides information to nursing personnel regarding the patient status on transfer.
• Implements physician orders safely in accordance with standards of practice.
• Maintains sterile technique and ensures nursing interventions are documented.
• Acts as a patient advocate in meeting physical and psychological needs.
