Into Action Recovery and Wellness Center in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Full-Time Peer Recovery Specialist to provide non-clinical, peer-based support to individuals in outpatient substance use treatment, drawing on lived experience to foster empowerment and engagement in recovery.

You will work mainly onsite with supervision from the Clinical Director and leadership, assist with administrative tasks, coordinate transportation, facilitate recovery groups, document services per DMAS/VDBHDS

Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and peer relationships.
Ability to set boundaries and maintain peer relationship dynamics.

Responsibilities

Provide non-clinical, peer-based support to clients in outpatient SUD treatment.
Provide transportation for clients as needed.
Assist with daily administrative tasks, cleaning, and maintaining a professional workspace.
Participate in mandatory training and educational opportunities.
Model recovery principles and share personal experience to inspire hope and resilience.
Support clients in navigating housing, employment, and social resources.
Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery groups and educational workshops.
Maintain documentation of peer services per DMAS requirements.
Collaborate with the clinical team to support individualized treatment goals.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and supervision.
