Job summary

Rockbridge Area Community Services in Lexington, VA is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist to provide non-clinical, recovery-oriented peer support to Intensive Outpatient Program participants. You will draw on your lived recovery experience to encourage hope, wellness, and progress toward goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CPRS preferred at hire, or must obtain within 12 months of employment.
• One year of experience providing peer support, mentoring, advocacy, recovery coaching, or similar support services preferred.
• Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Lived experience in recovery and a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical peer support to Intensive Outpatient Program participants.
• Facilitate individual and group peer support sessions to promote recovery.
• Assist participants in identifying strengths and accessing community resources.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation as part of the treatment team.
