Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples live in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8-13 students.

The role offers a unique family-like environment and a clear path to transition to a Placed Houseparent position. Compensation includes $46,917 per person plus a total package around $180,000 per couple, with free housing, meals on duty, utilities, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Couples must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
