Milton Hershey School (MHS) is hiring married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents to live in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for groups of 8–13 students. The role begins with nine days on duty followed by three off, with a path to a placed houseparent position.

Salary is $46,917 per person (about $180,000 per couple with free housing, meals on duty, utilities, and more), plus comprehensive benefits and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth
• Couples married at least two years
• Both spouses age 27 or older
• No more than three dependent children
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
• Pet limits: fish and one approved dog
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
• Ability to lead daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students

• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
