Job summary

Truman Medical Center's Occupational Therapy department seeks a full-time Occupational Therapist in Kansas City, MO. The role plans and delivers medically prescribed OT programs to restore functional independence and supervises OTAs and students.

Candidates must have an accredited OT degree and Missouri OT license, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.

Qualifications

• Degree and graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current Missouri license in Occupational Therapy.
• Verbal and written communication skills required to discuss and document treatment programs and work issues.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with correct body mechanics to physically manage/assist patients.
• Requires the physical ability to teach and demonstrate locomotor skills, high level coordination and gross / fine motor skills.
• Must maintain certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support for continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and conducts medically prescribed occupational therapy programs to facilitate/restore functional independence in all patient populations.
• Supervises Occupational Therapist Assistants, Rehab Techs and OT/OTA students.
• Works independently; seeks supervision when necessary.
